About the Role:
As the Business Analyst for the Business Support Team (BST), you will function as a key liaison between the Testing and Billing Support Team (TABS) and our ATCO Gas, Electricity and North of 60 business users. Your main responsibility is translating business needs into clear, actionable system requirements and user stories, complete with detailed acceptance criteria to support effective testing and validation

What You’ll Do:
- Function as the bridge between TABS and business users, ensuring clear communication and alignment on priorities.
- Document business requirements thoroughly and accurately for system changes and enhancements.
- Create user stories with detailed acceptance criteria so tester can adequately perform relevant testing
- Manage user story within JIRA or similar system
- Collaborate with testing teams to assist with defining relevant test scenarios.
- Participate in defect triage process along with TABS team for defect validation and assignment
- Oversee the validation process for billing system changes and coordinate business sign-off.
- Facilitate prioritization of system changes based on business impact and readiness.
- Develop and maintain up-to-date training materials, job aids, and process maps to support business users.
- Develop and deliver training sessions to business users on new processes or system changes.
- Monitor and report on the status of change requests and testing outcomes.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives within billing operations.
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in business administration, information technology, or a comparable combination of education and relevant experience
- Minimum of three years’ experience as a business analyst, data analyst, or similar role—preferably within a utility
- A Business Analyst Certification would be considered an asset
- Experience with testing Customer Information System (CIS), Customer Care and Billing (CC&B), and/or Meter Data Management (MDM) applications, or implementing Oracle Utilities within the energy industry would be an asset
- Demonstrated expertise in managing concurrent priorities and reliably meeting deadlines within high-pressure environments.
- Skilled at interpreting complex business needs and translating them into actionable, well-defined requirements
- Experience in outlining test scenarios and providing feedback to user acceptance testing (UAT).
- Demonstrated flexibility in adapting to evolving business needs and system changes.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for effective collaboration between testing teams (TABS) and business users
- Familiarity with process documentation standards and tools (e.g., IGrafx).
- Proficient in creating and maintaining job aids, process maps, and training materials
- Capable of preparing and delivering training sessions to diverse business audiences.
- Strong cross-functional teamwork skills to ensure alignment and successful implementation of changes.
- Exceptional attention to detail to ensure accuracy in documentation, testing, and communication.
