BRAKE PRESS OPERATOR, Day shift (1), Afternoon (1)
Applicant MUST be able to attend an in-person meeting.
Position/Duties Description:•Successful candidates will participate in the operation of bending and shaping metal parts in our manufacturing plant on our Brake Press.
•Comfortable with reading and interpreting blueprints and executing the final product as required.
•Ensure all safety controls are in place.
•Safely load and unload the machine.
•Capable of using other precision tools such as; calipers, measuring tape, height gauges, form gauges and templates.
•Some heavy lifting, carrying and handling of objects; able to lift up to and including 50 lbs.
•Must be capable of regular use of hands, wrists, arms, shoulders, bending/stretching, stooping, reaching, twisting, lifting, and walking.
•Must practice safe lifting and work procedures at all times.
•Participate in Company 5S program by maintaining workstation cleanliness.
•Continuous standing for extended periods of time.
•Repetitive motion and other job-specific requirements.
•The day shift position is (Monday - Thursday 6:00 am - 4:30 pm) (40 hour work week).
•The afternoon shift position is (Monday - Thursday 4:15pm - 2:15 am) (38.5 hour work week).
•Assist in other duties as required; able to work with other team members and also individually.
Qualifications:
•Minimum of 4 - 6 years of experience in a brake press/manufacturing environment.
•Must be able to do own setups and adjustments that are required to meet drawing requirements.
•Must have good math and measurement skills.
•Able to follow verbal instructions.
•Must demonstrate quality and attention to work details.
•Can follow written and verbal instructions.
•Shows exceptional people skills with a ‘can-do’ attitude.
•Has excellent attention to details along with great physical and mental capacity.
Requirements:
•Ability to read and follow work instructions and safety rules and be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
•A valid driver’s license or transportation required, as we are located in Cathcart ON, 10 minutes East of Woodstock and 10 minutes West of Burford, and not on a bus route.
