We are a high-end custom furniture and fabrication company based in North Charleston, known for our dedication to craftsmanship, design excellence, and personalized service. As we continue to grow, we're looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Bookkeeper to join our team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a creative, fast-paced environment and wants to make a significant impact on our financial operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Recording Financial Transactions
•Accurately document all financial transactions, including sales, purchases, expenses, and payments.
•Light administrative responsibilities
Tax Preparation Assistance
•Assist with tax preparation by providing timely and accurate financial data to our Tax Accountant.
•Ensure compliance with SC Department of Revenue sales tax filing and payment deadlines.
•Coordinate with the Tax Accountant on recording year-end journal entries, such as depreciation.
Monthly Financial Updates & Statement Preparation
•Lead a 2-hour in-person monthly financial review
•Create meeting agendas and print-ready reports (P&L, balance sheet, 4-month snapshots).
•Ensure timely monthly close and accurate financial statement preparation.
•Reconcile key balance sheet accounts monthly; low-transaction accounts semiannually.
•Adjust financials post-review with Owner and Operations Manager.
RFQ, Estimate & Invoicing Management
•Track and manage RFQs in project management software; facilitate transition from RFQ to Estimate to project kickoff.
•Handle B2B and credit account setup and paperwork required for project execution and payments.
Accounts Payable & Receivable
•Process payables/receivables and ensure accurate ledger reconciliation.
•Track outstanding invoices and ensure timely follow-up.
•Respond to client payment-related inquiries.
Financial Policy Development & Compliance
•Proactively identify and implement financial process improvements.
•Collaborate with leadership on financial goal setting and policy updates.
•Stay informed and compliant with relevant financial regulations and best practices.
Payroll Processing
•Manage payroll processing and journal entries.
•Maintain up-to-date employee records.
•Administer project timekeeping via Swipeclock.
•Monitor cash inflows/outflows to support budgeting and cash flow forecasting.
•Reconcile bank and credit card statements; resolve discrepancies as needed.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
Expected hours: 15 – 20 per week
