Sand Dollar Customs has an immediate opening for a qualified Bookkeeper /Administrative Assistant to join our team!
Position Summary
The Bookkeeper is responsible for performing all activities associated with the overall general accounting function. Will oversee, implement, and maintain accounting systems, procedures, and policies. This position ensures the accurate compilation, analysis and reporting of accounting data and acts as liaison between the company, government, client, and CPA auditors in providing required information and ensuring proper information is maintained.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
•Answer, assist, and direct all incoming telephone calls to appropriate parties in a professional and courteous manner.
•Perform related clerical work such as typing, filing, and sorting mail distribution
•Manage and order office supplies.
•Operate computers programmed with accounting software to record, store, and analyze information.
•Access computerized financial information to answer general questions as well as those related to specific accounts.
•Oversee basic accounting procedures (A/R, A/P, time billing, P/R, G/L, tax payments, and inventory control.
•Check figures, postings, and documents for correct entry, mathematical accuracy, and proper codes.
•Comply with federal, state, and company policies, procedures, and regulations.
•Apply for and obtain all necessary permits.
•Prepare and make bank deposits by verifying and balancing receipts, and sending cash, checks, or other forms of payment to banks.
•Maintain inventory records.
•Monitor status of loans and accounts to ensure that payments are up to date.
•Monitor and review all records of assets, liabilities, and other financial transitions.
•Perform financial calculations, such as amounts due, interest charges, balances, discounts, equity, and principal.
•Serve as company liaison with auditors (annual financial and 401K audits).
•Perform all basic accounting procedures, month end closing, journal entries and general ledger maintenance.
•Prepare financial statement as needed.
•Reconcile or note and report discrepancies found in records.
•Review, analyze and reconcile general ledger accounts and investment transactions in conjunction with preparing quarterly reports for management.
•Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
•Associate degree in accounting, finance, or business-related field preferred.
•Exceptional organization and time management skills.
•Work well independently and on teams.
•Ability to multitask efficiently.
•High attention to details; ability to take directions, self-check and follow up on work/deadlines.
•Intermediate data base experience.
•Ability to enter accurate financial/numerical data.
•Analytical and critical problem-solving skills.
•Intermediate knowledge of QuickBooks and Excel/MS Office Suite software.
•Ability to apply discretion and be trusted with confidential company information.
•Excellent oral and written communication skills
•Ability to exchange non-routine information using tact and persuasion as appropriate
•Excellent customer relationship skills
