Accuenergy is a Toronto-based company dedicated to research, design and manufacturing of multifunction power meters and other instruments. We also provide advanced technological solutions for distribution and industrial power system automation.
· Plan, organize and direct all the activities of the cost accounting function.
· Set up and maintain ERP system to apply correct costing concepts such as direct vs indirect, fixed vs variable, product vs period costs to ensures complete and accurate costing data and streamline the costing reporting process.
· Work closely with engineering and manufacturing personnel to analyze product structures (including bills of materials), resolve variances and allocate costs. Analyze direct and indirect labor and overhead variances and conduct/assist scrap analysis.
· Monitor, review and approve production transactions or movements between Raw Material to Work-in-progress (WIP) to Finished Goods G/L accounts and support all inventory related activities. Ensure accurate financial entries posted into the ERP including MRP (Material Resource Planning) system.
· Analyze changes in product design, raw materials, manufacturing methods, or services to determine effects on costs.
· Develop and maintain standard costs for raw material and supplies (offline), labour costs and overhead. Compare standard cost to actual cost and identify and explain variances in term of different dimensions such as production, project, or customers, etc.
· Produce daily/weekly/monthly production, variance and ad hoc reports.
· Continually Identify cost drivers and drive improvements of the costing system to provide management with better information for decision making.
· Support company ISO and internal compliance as required.
· Receive and verify bills for purchases from several major suppliers.
· Make sure Inventory Items are properly defined and classified. Work closely with Supply Chain team and other teams to ensure the unit price and important attributions of items are correctly entered.
· Oversee excess & obsolete (E&O) and work closely with warehouse team on physical inventory counts and cycle counts, review and approve inventory quantity adjustments and obsolete write-offs.
· Oversee and reconcile all inventory related G/L accounts and subledger accounts to ensure completeness and accuracy of Inventory data and valuation.
· Monitor all Inventory related activities and processes and address issues/errors.
· Prepare periodic inventory reserves reconciliation, analyzing inventory for risk, and monitoring inventory with support from internal stakeholders.
· Provide support and backup of AR, AP and other accounting functions as required.
· Assist in month-end and year-end closing by validating the cost of goods sold and analyzing cost variances, preparing inventory and supplemental reports.
· Prepare monthly/annual gross margin report and analysis in term of different dimensions.
· Preparecost budgets for production or operations, compare actual costs to budgeted costs, and provide suggestions on improvements.
· Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve financial processes and efficiency.
· Recommend improvements for reserves, assets, and expenditures.
· Work on special projects or ad-hoc tasks as required.
· 5+ years of accounting experience including 2+ years of cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment with a strong cost accounting knowledge.
· Must be able to analyze data, draw conclusions, interpret results, and make recommendations.
· Good understanding of GAAP especially on Inventory Measurement and Valuation Methods.
· Solid understanding of manufacturing operations, inventory and cost accounting.
· Proficiency in Excel, experience in manipulating large databases a plus.
· Significant hands-on experience using an integrated and scaled ERP system (MS Dynamic preferred).
· Good understanding of operations process and manufacturing principles, with the ability to thrive in fast-paced environments.
· Strong analytical, organizational, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills.
· Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and prioritize workload effectively.
· Strong verbal and written communication in English and Mandarin.
· Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
