WPPI Energy, a Sun Prairie-based municipal electric utility, seeks an attorney to work closely with existing legal staff and various business units. This position will report to the Assistant General Counsel. - Provide legal counsel and advice on all aspects of WPPI Energy’s operations
- Regularly collaborate and interface with WPPI Energy business units, outside counsel, and legal counsel for external parties
- Draft and negotiate complex transaction and financing agreements
- Assist in the development and maintenance of corporate policies, procedures and compliance programs
- Support monitoring and engagement on behalf of WPPI Energy in legal and regulatory forums
- Juris Doctorate degree from nationally accredited law school
- Admitted or willing and qualified to promptly attain admission to practice law in the State of Wisconsin
- Strong analytical, drafting, and negotiating skills with consistent attention to detail
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact and collaborate with individuals at all levels
- Contract and business law experience is desirable
- Knowledge of the electric industry is a plus
