Expected salary range of $66,600 to $74,000, varies based on experience, along with comprehensive benefits package that includes bonus and 401(k).
As an Associate Trading Analyst, you will help grow the Midwest Desk's customer service offerings and P&L by increasing the desk's capture rate of fundamental trading opportunities. This position reports to the Manager of the Midwest Wholesale Trading Desk and involves close collaboration with the desk's traders to ensure overall portfolio alignment. You will leverage your analytical background to enhance the Midwest Desk's understanding of positions, risks, and P&L by improving the utilization of resources such as SimCube, CTF, FinanceCube, AMP, UPlan, Panorama, Sunario, Genscape, Velocity Suite, and other tools. In this role, you will identify fundamental risks and opportunities within the Midwest Wholesale Trading Portfolio, automate and optimize the employment of analytical resources, develop and maintain a market view that extends from near-term to long-range planning, and progress toward ownership and accountability of P&L through position-taking in OTC, FTR, and Mid markets.
Serve as the Trading Desk's point of contact for cross-functional teams, resident expert on analytical tools, and actively participate in community and ERG initiatives.
- Bachelor's degree in a quantitative discipline such as Data Science, Data Analytics, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Operations Research, or a related field
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate insights into actionable strategies.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with ability to collaborate across teams
- Understanding of fuel markets and their relationship to power markets
- Familiarity with programming tools is a plus (e.g., MATLAB, C++, Python, R, SecDB, Oracle, AMP)- Proven ability to manage, analyze, and summarize large datasets
- Demonstrated ability to make accurate and timely decisions while working under tight deadlines
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively and independently in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment
