Associate Trader - Refined Products

Position Summary:

The Associate Trader will play a key role on the trading desk, responsible for trade execution, position management, and market analysis. This is a front-office commercial role with direct accountability for position accuracy, hedge execution, and contribution to desk Profit and Loss (P&L).

Essential Responsibilities:

- Execute physical and financial trades under trader direction, within risk and policy limits.

- Maintain real-time trading positions, exposures, and daily P&L.

- Support strategy development and execute hedges to manage risk.

- Monitor pipeline allocations, inventory levels, and logistics flows to optimize trading positions.

- Provide timely market intelligence on pricing, supply/demand fundamentals, and arbitrage opportunities.

- Collaborate with operations, scheduling, and risk control to ensure seamless trade lifecycle management.

- Enhance tools and reporting to improve transparency and commercial decision-making.

Other Functions:

- Special projects as requested.

- Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:

- 3–6 years’ experience in trading, risk management, or commodities required.

- Advanced Excel skills; SQL, BI tools, or Python a plus.

- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

- Demonstrated commercial drive with interest in developing into a lead trader role.

Education:

- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or related field.
