Position Summary & Responsibilities
DGOC is looking for an Associate Landman to support its (
Central or Appalachia) operations. The Associate Landman will assist Landman and Land Management. Focus on resolving issues for our Land, Operations, Domestic Gas, Permitting, Engineering, Midstream and Accounting teams as well as an initial contact point for Lessors and property owners. Some experience preferred but not required.
An associate landman is an entry-level position in the oil and gas industry, assisting experienced landmen with tasks like title research, property acquisition and divestitures, proposals and lease negotiations.
- Associate landmen work under the supervision of experienced landmen, supporting their efforts in acquiring, divesting and managing land rights. Settling damages, negotiating and acquiring Land agreements.
- Responsibilities:
- Title Research: Conducting thorough research in county records to determine surface and mineral ownership.
- Lease and Contract Negotiation: Assisting with the negotiation of leases and contracts with landowners.
- Communication: Maintaining professional communication with both internal and external parties.
- Documentation: Analyzing and documenting research findings, extracting relevant information for reports.
- Record Keeping: Maintaining accurate records of property information and lease agreements.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills are crucial for interacting with landowners and internal teams.
- Ability to analyze and interpret land and title documents.
- Ability to identify and resolve issues related to land rights and leases.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Effective computer skills (word, excel, ppt)
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Land or Business or related field is preferred or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Oil and Gas Land field experience with a production company is preferred (0-5 years of experience)
- Effective written and oral communication skills.
- Demeanor that will project a positive image for the company
- Ability to work independently with some guidance
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (including Access and Excel), PDF, GIS and oil and gas accounting software programs.
- Member of local Landman association or AAPL preferred
