Associate, Distribution Engineering System Design

Overview

Distribution Engineering is seeking a highly motivated associate to join the System Design Department. The System Designdepartment is responsible for high tension and distributed generation interconnections, system analysis, design, standards,and engineering computer applications. We are looking for candidates who are self-starters and possess a deep sense ofpersonal accountability. - Work with engineers to complete projects for high tension and distributed generation interconnections, system analysis, design, standards, and engineering computer applications.

- EPs in the HT & DG Group will assist in providing a wide range of services including generator interconnection services, developing standards, analytics, program optimization, developing and onboarding new equipment, and system impact studies of the electric distribution system to support internal and external customers.

- EPs will assist in providing solutions, technical expertise, guidance, and coordinating company forces that support the design, upgrade, and maintenance of the Con Edison Distribution system.

- Perform other related tasks and assignments as required.

Qualifications

Required Education/Experience

- Bachelor's Degree Engineering or Computer Science and One year relevant experience (includes co-op or internships)

Relevant Work Experience

- One year relevant experience (includes co-op or internships) Required

- Proficient in Microsoft Office products Required

- Must demonstrate ability to accept challenges and solve problems Required

- Must exercise good judgment and render sound decisions Required

- Must demonstrate a positive work ethic in support of the Companys Corporate Values and Missions Required

- Must have excellent oral and written communication skills Required

- Must be well organized, detail orientated and flexible to handle multiple assignments Required

- Must have excellent interpersonal skills to effectively interact with company employees Required

- Ability to draft, edit and proofread memos, presentations and board reports as required. Required

Additional Physical Demands

- The selected candidate will be assigned a System Emergency Assignment (i.e., an emergency response role) and will be expected to work non-business hours during emergencies, which may include nights, weekends, and holidays.

- Must be able and willing to travel within Company service territory, as needed.
