United Iron Inc., a N.Y., Westchester County steel company is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to review shop drawings, process/monitor material orders and coordinate with steel detailers. Excellent skills in computer, organizing and experience in Steel Construction. Knowledge of CAD, Blue beam and Civil Engineering degree desirable.
Qualifications
•2-3 years of construction experience working in project management; engineering experience preferred
•Degree in civil engineering, construction management or a related field
•Highly organized and able to multitask
•Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
•Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
•Able to work independently and as part of a team
Responsibilities
•Assist Project Manager in executing projects, coordinating the flow of information between Project Manager, Detailer and General Contractors
•Coordinate shop drawings with Detailer and Designer to ensure accuracy, send drawings out for submittals, review for installation, mark up drawings with field measurements from Project Manager and review for change orders
•Work with Engineers to provide PE calculations and stamped drawings
•Coordinate with vendors and suppliers to determine the scheduling of work and material, as well as collecting and organizing the required documents and reports
•Draft sketches to submit for RFIs (request for information)
•Submit samples to General Contractors
•Assist with safety by conducting job hazard analysis reports
•Review job specifications and write welding procedures
