The Assistant Exploration Drill Operator is responsible for assisting with the exploration and sampling of all explored material sources as well as the operation and maintenance of the drilling operations vehicles, equipment, and tools.
- Safely load and transport required drilling equipment to job site
- Drive a medium-duty truck and trailer.
- Operate exploration equipment and tooling.
- Organize, label, and manage samples as they are removed from each boring.
- Assist with remediating the drilling holes after exploration activities conclude
- Perform gradation analysis of explored materials.
- Assist with performing required maintenance on exploration equipment.
- Always work safely and take action to prevent any, and all unsafe actions, processes, and behaviors.
- Regular, reliable attendance at the worksite or assigned work location.
- Other duties and responsibilities related to the nature of the job may be assigned on a temporary or permanent basis as needed.
- High School Diploma
- Hold a valid Oklahoma Class A, Commercial Driver’s License
- Hold a current OWRB (OK Water Resource Board) Commercial Drilling Certificate or able to obtain the OWRB Commercial Drilling Certificate within a year of beginning the role.
- Prior drilling experience preferred
- Experience in diesel mechanics, welding, fabrication, heavy equipment operation, and construction, preferred.
- Strong drive and initiative with the ability to work independently
- Good observation skills.
- Self-motivated, organized
- Excellent verbal, written and comprehension communication skills.
- Work well with others in a team environment.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and a positive attitude that fosters effective relationships.
- Quickly understand and adhere to safety requirements of this position.
- Ability to work overtime, nights and weekends as required.
- Work near, around or on light or heavy equipment.
- Lift objects repeatedly of various dimensions and up to 100lbs. of weight.
- Ability to repeatedly climb stairs and climb ladders.
- Ability to repeatedly balance, bend from the trunk, crawl, kneel, push and pull objects.
- Ability to tolerate working in all environmental temperatures and weather conditions.
- Ability to repeatedly reach, squat and tolerate prolonged standing / walking / sitting.
- Ability to repeatedly walk on uneven surfaces.
