Reporting to the Operations Manager of Sorbents Manufacturing/Vice-President of Operations, the Assembly Technician supports the Company’s manufacturing of sorbent products, including sorbent boom and pads, as part of a wider team in an assembly line setting.
- Shows consciousness in quality control in ensuring that products are assembled to pre-determined specifications
- Positively contributes to the achievement of daily/weekly/monthly production quotas
- In line with the Company’s safety policies, ensures that the facility is clean, organized, and kept in compliance with all State and Federal safety requirement, and ensures that tasks are completed in a safe manner
- Quickly absorbs new information and instructions to familiarize self with product line up
- Maintains a collaborative approach to objectives through positive teamwork with colleagues across Company footprint
- Demonstrates flexibility in responding to emergency customer demand outside of defined normal working hours
- Other duties and projects as assigned by the Company
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
- One year’s prior experience in an assembly/manufacturing/warehouse environment
- Driver’s license with a clean record free of accidents, moving violations, and points
- Able to pass a background check and mandatory drug and alcohol testing
- Able to access local refineries and plants with higher security measures without issue
- Prior experience safely operating forklifts
- Ability to read/comprehend technical, logistical, and operational documents written in English
- Ability to effectively and appropriately communicate with a wide range of customers in a professional manner
- Willingness to provide input on working practices and manage upward
- A demonstrated employment history of maintaining safe working practices or willingness to undergo safety training at the discretion of the Company
- Prior experience in industrial supply, environmental, petrochemical or other safety sensitive industries
- Ability to safely operate a box truck
- Working knowledge of safety, industrial and chemical products
- A current, unexpired TWIC card or willingness to undergo the TWIC application process
- OSHA 29 CFR 1910.178 certified or equivalent forklift certification
In the course and scope of this role, the successful applicant may be required to lift and carry 50lbs or utilize a team lift or machinery for tasks requiring a lift of over 50lbs. The role will require the successful applicant to bend, kneel, and stoop frequently, as well as spend prolonged periods standing and sitting. The successful applicant will be expected to travel locally occasionally, with some out-of-state travel required seldomly. The successful applicant may also be exposed to environmental conditions such as heat, humidity, cold, rain, etc. in the execution of their duties. To support emergency customer demand, the successful applicant will be expected to remain on-call and may work outside of the defined normal working hours.
