JOB TITLE: Assembly and Rebuilds Technician
LOCATION: Elko, NV
RATE: $29.75-$39.00 per hour
JOB SUMMARY
The Assembly and Rebuilds Technician role is responsible for carrying out assigned aftermarket component and machine rebuild work at Getman Elko Service Center. Examples of such tasks include diesel engine, transmission, axle repairs or other major component replacements and overhauls. The position will also work on fluid power, compressed air and machine electrical control system repairs and replacements.
This role collaborates with Getman service and warehouse teams located at Elko Service Center and at Getman HQ offices in Michigan.
RESPONSIBILITIES
•Ensures that all work carried out follows local safety regulations and requirements in the region, with best practices for pre- operation inspections, personal risk assessments and necessary job safety assessments to ensure safety in all tasks and work.
•Carries out maintenance, repairs, upgrades and rebuilds for complete machines and/or major components or subsystems.
•Works on various components and systems, including diesel engines, fuel systems, exhaust systems, transmissions, axles, SAHR- brake systems, fluid power control systems, electrical control systems, wiring and instrumentation.
•Interprets machine parts manuals, schematics, technical drawings and Bills of Material related to rebuild and repair work. Identifies necessary parts and provides them to Parts or Warehouse colleagues for ordering or pickup.
•Ensures high quality work by conforming to provided specifications and proper verification and by demonstrating high workmanship quality.
•Ensures good organization and safety of work area, including tools and parts.
•Turns in service reports, timecards in a timely manner and with necessary detail for further processing.
•Effectively collaborates with manager and colleagues about status of work and any concerns and roadblocks.
•Acts as backup for colleagues in the Parts and Warehouse teams, by delivering parts to customers as necessary, and by helping with parts receiving and by being flexible to help colleagues with other assigned duties.
•Initiates process flow developments and standard operating procedures as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education and/or Experience
•High School diploma, G.E.D., or equivalent required.
•Minimum of two years of heavy equipment/diesel mechanic experience.
•Experience in maintaining mining machines is preferred.
•Experience in using advanced diagnostics tools such as Cummins INSITE.
Skills, Talents and/or Characteristics
•Ability to work safely with heavy machine parts and with various hand tools, including repair welding.
•Strong mechanical, electrical and hydraulics knowledge.
•Ability to be self-sufficient and self-directed and effectively carry out work without supervision at times.
•Experience in machine diagnostics with advanced tools.
•Ability to communicate effectively via MS- Teams, write service reports, look up parts manuals and parts availability across Getman business systems such as DocuMoto and Epicor.
•Ability to work overtime and flexible hours as necessary.
