W.A. Petrakis Contracting operates across Western Pennsylvania and continues to grow. Services include installation of sewer/water & gas lines, directional drilling, hydro-vac excavating, pump stations & milling/paving restoration.

Key Responsibilities:

•

Perform assigned responsibilities and general tasks as instructed by the Foreman

•

Assist in layout and movement of the paver as required.

•

Conduct visual safety inspections to identify leaks or damage before operating the equipment.

•

Complete daily equipment inspections, submit inspection sheets to the foreman, and perform routine maintenance to ensure safe and proper functioning of the equipment. Notify the supervisor of any maintenance or repair needs.

•

Adjust conveyor speed and tunnel gates to maintain a proper head of material in front of the screed.

•

Signal and direct truck drivers regarding overhead items.

•

Check, clean, and maintain the hopper.

•

Operate the equipment to achieve straight lines and maintain a suitable paving speed in coordination with truck delivery.

•

Maintain cleanliness of the paver and prepare the roller for transportation or maintenance.(MUST HAVE PAVING EXPERIENCE TO APPLY)

Qualifications:

•

Two (2) years of asphalt paving experience (preferred).

•

Strong leadership skills to effectively motivate and manage subordinates, fostering a safe and productive work environment.

•

Physical ability to meet the demands of the job.

•

Team-oriented mindset with excellent written and oral communication skills.

•

Demonstrated ability to multitask, meet deadlines, and maintain strong organizational skills.

•

OSHA 10 required/OSHA 30 preferred.

Skills:

•

Proficient in operating and maintaining paving machines.

•

Strong attention to detail and ability to monitor paving quality.

•

Good communication skills to work effectively with the crew and supervisors.

•

Knowledge of construction site safety practices.

Pay: $57.00 - $65.00 per hour
