Vessel Welder
Summary:
Leading pay available for ASME code Vessel Welders. Excellent attention to detail is mandatory. In addition to welding, the successful candidate must be able to perform or assist in tasks related to welding such as fit‐up, preparation, repair, inspection, and post weld preparation. A Vessel Welder will also be asked to assist with general site work such as loading and unloading equipment and materials, site clean‐up and preparation, scaffolding erection, general tank construction tasks and other duties as assigned. This position is located in Troy, TX, local applicants only please. This position does not include a relocation package or Per Diem.
Key Responsibilities / Essential Functions For Vessel Welder
•Follow welding procedure specifications when welding
•Efficiently produce quality welds
•Perform or assist with fit‐up and preparation of welds
•Perform or assist with post weld cleanup, inspection, and repair
•Communicate regularly with the Supervisor with regard to issues and concerns on the job site
•Comply with all PermianLide safety policies and programs
Job Requirements
Minimum Requirements:
•Must be able to pass 6G test.
•Must be able to read prints and written instructions as well as follow verbal directions as required to perform duties and responsibilities as listed below. Heavy lifting will often be required to perform tasks.
•Must be able to kneel, squat, and climb.
•A qualified applicant must be able to perform required duties for extended periods of time inside confined spaces.
•Also, the Welder must be able to tolerate extreme weather conditions for extended periods of time.
Additional Requirements
•Legally authorized to work in the United States
•Applicants must be able to pass 2, 3, 4G plate tests
•Must pass background and drug screen.
•Must have a valid driver’s license
•Willingness to perform/comply with the following:
•To work at least a 10 hour day, which includes some weekends and holidays
•To work in enclosed spaces, such as vessels
•To work near large, hot, high‐speed machines
•To climb up to 35 feet in height
•To lift a minimum of 50 pounds
•To wear personal protective equipment (such as steel‐toe shoes, ear and eye protection)
•To work outside in harsh weather conditions
•To read technical procedures and materials
Compensation: Pay is competitively based on experience,up to $40.00/Hour
Rate of pay will be established upon successful completion of 6G weld test.
