The Alberta Electric System Operator (AESO) is responsible for the safe, reliable, and economic planning and operation of the Alberta Interconnected Electric System. We provide open and non-discriminatory access to Alberta’s interconnected power grid and also facilitate Alberta’s competitive wholesale electricity market. The Alberta Electric System Operator (AESO) is pleased to offer an articling opportunity to a motivated 2026 law graduate. The successful candidate will participate in the AESO’s 12-months Student-at-Law Program, which supports the development of a law graduate into a practicing lawyer in accordance with the Legal Profession Act, the Rules of the Law Society of Alberta, and the Law Society of Alberta Code of Conduct.
You will be part of the Law department. Working collaboratively with internal colleagues, our team provides strategic legal and business advice in relation to several regulatory and commercial matters and ultimately ensures compliance with the AESO’s public interest mandate, in accordance with our legislative and regulatory legal obligations.
