Job Purpose
The Area Manager’s Primary responsibility is to manage the project(s) performance and reports directly to the Regional Manager in all matters related to the project(s). Create a vision of project success through the company’s continuous improvement initiatives; empower and motivate the Field Supervisors to achieve the vision. The Area Manager represents Heath Consultants in meetings and communications with our customers. Span of control will be no more than 10 to 12 Field Supervisors or by geographic area.
Key Responsibilities And Critical Success Measures Leadership
- The Area Manager leads by example and proactively supports Field Supervisors through direct management to ensure company and client expectations are exceeded.
- Set and communicate daily goals and expectations to their Field Supervisors.
- Promoting engagement of Field Supervisors.
- Direct company safety and quality standards by reviewing monthly Observations 360 assessments and monthly KPI’s within Power BI.
- Reviews investigations, root cause analysis findings and oversees corrective actions taken by the Field Supervisors, then updates the Regional Managers.
- Champion the corporate service standards and specifications.
- Analyze and act on daily project performance.
- Challenge the status quo, promote a proactive resolution, and endeavor to succeed. Instill this philosophy into their Field Supervisors.
- Perform other duties as deemed necessary by the Regional Manager.
- Ensures daily performance
- Manages the integrity of field technicians employment life cycle: interviewing applicants, hiring, coaching, disciplining, and discharging.
- Mentoring of the Field Supervisors to improve their knowledge, skills, and professional growth.
- Teach lean principles to continuously improve Project(s) performance.
- Lead a weekly Area meeting with their Field Supervisors: Discuss safety, quality, team performance and recognition, and set weekly goals
- Participate Monthly in weekly tailgate meetings: discuss safety, quality, team performance, set weekly goals, employee recognition, hand out supplies.
- Observation 360 – At least 1 field technician safety risk assessment per quarter and 3 quality audits per quarter. At least 1 ride along per quarter on a Field Supervisor. 1 personal efficiency improvement initiative per month and 1 area efficiency improvement initiative. Review and discuss team efficiency improvement initiatives.
- Act as the primary point of contact with the client regarding all operational matters dealing with the project.
- Meet with the Client as required to maintain customer relations and discuss changes to the operating procedures to promote open communications.

Knowledge, Skills And Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent is required, some college course work is required or equivalent work experience, bachelor’s degree preferred
- Three to five years of utility industry experience is preferred.
- Three to five years of managerial experience preferred.
- Gas Leak Survey, Meter Reading and Damage Prevention experience preferred.
- Intermediate level knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite is required, specifically in Excel and Word.
- Familiarity with OneDrive and Office 365.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal abilities are required.
- Strong oral and written communication skills are required.
- The ability to analyze and interpret data is required.
- Obtain a Lean Six Sigma white belt and lean certificate of achievement within the first 6 months.

- This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

- Travel is primarily local during the business day, frequent out of the area travel and overnight may be expected.
