Job Description Summary: Mid-Am Metal Forming is looking for a qualified painter at our Rogersville, Missouri facility. Painters apply paint in a spray booth to aluminum architectural components that are moving past on a conveyor system. The paint is solvent-based, and it is applied using handheld, electrostatic sprayers. The painter is responsible for the setup of the paint booth, the operation of painting equipment, adjustment of equipment for optimal performance, positioning and technique, reduction and loading of paint, thickness specification, and paint booth shutdown.
Daily preparedness of the painter consists of turning the automated system on, verifying that the equipment is operable, agitating the paint, and adding solvent to change the paint viscosity. Basic knowledge of paint flow, distance, manometer readings, wet mil thickness testing, and technical proficiency with the ability to apply even coats of paint while controlling the thickness is required.
Paint Booth Station shut down: Cleaning the ceiling, walls, and sweeping. Secondary responsibilities include, but not limited to, hanging product and rework.
We cycle painters in and out of the paint booth to avoid fatigue. When not spraying in the booth, painters will assist preparing, counting, and hanging parts.
The typical schedule consists of ten hours per day, Monday through Friday (6:00AM to 4:45PM). Since we are a custom shop, production is occasionally scheduled to work on a Saturday.
