Perform line construction and maintenance under the direction of a Journeyman-rated Line Technician.
Apprentice 3- A high school diploma or state equivalency certificate is required. No previous experience is required. Must have CDL (commercial driver’s license).
Apprentice 2- A high school diploma or state equivalency certificate is required with Three (3) years prior experience in overhead and underground construction and maintenance is desired. Must have successfully completed the apprenticeship program required for Apprentice Line Tech III. Must have CDL (commercial driver’s license).
Apprentice 1- A high school diploma or state equivalency certificate required with Three (3) years prior experience in overhead and underground construction and maintenance is desired. Must have successfully completed the apprenticeship program required for Apprentice Line Tech III and II. Must have CDL (commercial driver’s license).
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common technical journals, safety material, and other work-related documents. Ability to use standard office equipment and laptops. Ability to work nonstandard work hours or work week, possible overtime work, and to be “on-call” on a rotating basis. Must have or be able to attain forklift certification. Must be able to lift up to seventy-five (75) pounds.
Ninety (90) percent of the duties of this job are performed outdoors as such the employee will be exposed to various weather conditions including extreme heat and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in this environment is usually moderate. The employee will be required to utilize specific safety equipment and follow all safety rules.
