Apprentice Heavy Duty Mechanic

1st-3rd year mechanical apprentice– Full‑Time (60 hrs/week) Term: Full Time Location: Peace River, AB Schedule: Monday–Friday (12‑hour days), Weekends as required

What you’ll do

- Assist mechanics with repairs, maintenance, and daily shop tasks.

- Operate pressure‑washing equipment to clean heavy equipment, trucks, trailers, and shop bays.

- Keep the shop clean, organized, and stocked with parts and consumables.

- Safely move tools, equipment, and materials using forklifts or pallet jacks.

- Champion our strong safety culture by following procedures, wearing PPE, and reporting hazards.

- Assist in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining heavy-duty and light-duty equipment.

- Perform routine service work such as oil changes, inspections, and part replacements.

- Learn safe and proper use of tools, diagnostic equipment, and shop procedures

What you bring

- Enrolled in or eligible for the Alberta Apprenticeship Program (or willing to register).c

- Solid work ethic, mechanical aptitude, and eagerness to learn.

- Ability to lift 50 lb + and work on your feet for extended periods.

- Valid Class 5 driver’s licence with a clean abstract.

- Forklift or skid‑steer experience is an asset, but not mandatory.

- Ability to work in a team and follow instructions.

- Commitment to safety and reliability.

- Previous mechanical or shop experience considered an asset but not required.

- Must pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test.
