Kureha Energy Solutions (KES) provides innovative degradable downhole tools and materials to the oil and gas industry. We partner closely with operators to deliver high-quality solutions that improve operational efficiency and reduce intervention time. We are looking for a motivated Applications Engineer I to join our Houston-based team. This is an excellent opportunity for recent engineering graduates to build a career in the oil and gas industry and gain hands-on experience in operations, technical support, and product development.
Support the sales and operational deployment of Kureha’s degradable products by providing technical expertise, analyzing well performance, and collaborating with internal teams to deliver high-quality solutions to customers.
Assist in addressing field issues by working with Sales and Operations teams. Support investigations of tool performance, collect and analyze well data, and help develop corrective actions.
Support the management and quality control activities for downhole tools, including inspection, assembly, and packaging processes.
Review customer well specifications to determine appropriate tool selection and usage parameters. Help prepare proposals and coordinate with Supply Chain for inventory needs.
Provide operational guidance before and during field jobs. Participate in field visits to observe tool deployment and collect performance data.
Work closely with the R&D team to support testing, data collection, and evaluation of new degradable materials and tools.
Assist in gathering information on competitor products and industry trends to help identify opportunities for product improvements and business growth.
Support Sales Team efforts to expand the Kureha Degradable Products business by understanding customer needs and ensuring high levels of service and satisfaction.
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Petroleum, Chemical, or related Engineering discipline.
Eagerness to learn and work in a hands-on, fast-paced environment.
Ability to work effectively in a team setting.
Willingness to travel up to 25% to support field operations and customer meetings.
Prior oil and gas experience is not required. Training will be provided. Background or familiarity with the industry is preferred.
Provide support to operations and sales by participating in 24-hour on-call rotations, including nights and weekends, responding to phone calls and emails, and delivering timely technical support.
