Position Summary:
The Apparatus Tech responsibilities are the installation, maintenance, and testing of apparatus in substations. This will include power circuit breakers, transformers, and step voltage regulators. under direct supervision. This position requires work in confined spaces and elevated work areas, and works with various pieces of construction equipment specific to the trade. Apparatus Techs must deal with day to day issues and find suitable solutions under difficult circumstances. They must have an excellent command of decision-making and problem-solving techniques and are able to apply them appropriately. An Apparatus Tech must be able to work at various locations. They may be required to travel to another state depending on customer demands.

•Proficient experience in gas/oil breakers, power transformers, commissioning and decommissioning.
•Computer skills, and familiarity with Word, Excel, and email
•Must be capable of working in confined spaces/areas.
•Must be capable of learning to operate various types of heavy equipment.
•Must be capable of lifting in excess of 50 lbs.
•Must be capable of climbing and working at heights up to 125 feet above ground.
•Must be capable of working in close proximity of energized substation equipment.
•Must possess a valid driver’s license; Class A CDL license preferred.
•Working knowledge of electrical test equipment, hydraulics, pneumatics, and general mechanics.
Education and Experience Required:
•High School diploma or equivalent experience in related field is required.
