SUMMIT Inspection Services Ltd. is seeking API Inspectors, CGSB-Certified NDT Technicians, and NDT IRATA Rope Access Technicians for a full-time hourly position at our Inspection Services company, for projects based in Fort McMurray, Alberta.

Since 2004, SUMMIT Inspection Services Ltd. has been providing in-service pressure vessel inspections primarily to the Oil and Gas industry across Western Canada. As we continue to grow, we invite qualified professionals to join our team and contribute to our ongoing success.
· Conduct in-service inspections of pressure vessels, piping systems, storage tanks, and related equipment as per API codes (e.g., API 510, 570, 653) and applicable provincial regulations while maintaining a high standard of integrity and quality.
· Oversee the repair, alteration, and maintenance of assigned equipment, ensuring accurate and complete documentation.
· Prepare, implement, and maintain inspection programs in accordance with the company’s Quality Management System (QMS), including detailed reporting and documentation.
· Interpret and evaluate inspection results in compliance with applicable codes, standards, specifications, and procedures.
· Apply knowledge of applicable jurisdictional regulations while conducting inspections.
· Report equipment issues or non-conformances as per company procedures for corrective action.
· Provide mentorship and guidance to junior or assistant crew members.
· Stay up to date with changes in API codes, industry best practices, and regulatory requirements through ongoing professional development.
· Perform non-destructive testing (NDT) techniques including but not limited to Ultrasonic Testing (UT), Magnetic Particle Testing (MT), Liquid Penetrant Testing (PT), and Radiographic Testing (RT) in accordance with CGSB certification requirements.
· Set up and calibrate NDT equipment and conduct inspections according to applicable procedures, codes, and standards.
· Analyze and interpret NDT results to determine structural integrity or identify defects.
· Prepare clear and detailed NDT reports, including test data, results, and any indications found.
· Ensure all NDT activities are completed in compliance with safety and regulatory requirements.
· Maintain and store NDT equipment and materials properly and ensure they are in safe working condition.
· Coordinate with inspection teams to support comprehensive evaluation of equipment.
· Use IRATA-certified rope access techniques to safely access elevated or difficult-to-reach areas for inspection and testing purposes.
· Carry out NDT methods (UT, MT, PT) in elevated or vertical environments, ensuring accuracy and adherence to both CGSB NDT and IRATA protocols.
· Perform inspection and/or NDT duties while suspended or positioned via rope access systems, in accordance with site-specific procedures and safety plans.
· Conduct pre-use inspections and routine maintenance of rope access and safety equipment.
· Maintain full compliance with IRATA and client safety standards, including fall protection, hazard identification, and rescue procedures.
· Support ground teams and coordinate tasks to ensure safe and efficient job execution.
· Complete work assignments efficiently, effectively, and competently following company procedures.
· Document and record inspection findings accurately and in a timely manner.
· Create field sketches as required, in accordance with approved procedures.
· Follow all company and client safety protocols and maintain safe work practices at all times.
· Identify and report unsafe work conditions, hazards, or concerns.
· Communicate professionally and courteously with clients and team members.
· Address and resolve client questions, concerns, or complaints in a timely and professional manner.
· Participate in pre-job briefings and contribute to hazard identification and risk mitigation during field operations.
· Valid API-510, API-570, and API 653 certification
· Valid CGSB UTI and/or MTII, PTII certification
· Valid Level 1 IRATA rope access technician certification
· Minimum two (2) years of experience in all roles
· ABSA In-Service Pressure Vessel (IPV) certification considered a strong asset
· ABSA In-Service Boiler Inspector (IBPVI) certification considered an asset
· Must have the following valid safety certifications prior to employment: H2S Alive, Emergency First Aid, Common Safety Orientation (CSO), Confined Space Entry and Rescue, and OSSA Fall Protection
· Prior experience leading a crew considered an asset
· Self-motivated with the ability to work independently
· Experience working in confined spaces and working from heights
· Strong attention to detail required to provide thorough inspection observations
· Strong computer skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
· Ability to perform physically demanding activities that may involve moving, setting up, and operating inspection equipment
· Candidates will be required to pass a pre-access drug and alcohol test prior to site deployment
