The Ancillary Engineering Director will be responsible for managing a team of engineers who designs and/or specifies mechanical ancillary equipment for aero-derivative industrial gas turbine packages. The ideal candidate will lead the design of ancillary systems and associated components that meet customer specifications and align with industry standards, while optimizing cost, reliability, and flexibility.
· Provide oversight and overall technical direction for power plant system design requirements for gas turbine enclosures, inlet filtering and silencing, secondary air and ventilation systems, fire protection, and exhaust systems.
· Oversee the engineering design, specification, and mechanical integration of auxiliary systems associated with the supply and delivery of lubrication oil, fuel oil, natural gas, and demineralized water.
· Design fluid forwarding and filtering equipment, including selection of components and instrumentation requirements.
· Maintain definition for system descriptions and control requirements documentation.
· Communicate and collaborate internally (cross-functional teams) and externally (global customers and supply chain)
· Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering; master’s degree a plus
· Extensive experience in designing ancillary and auxiliary systems for industrial gas turbine packages; more than 12 years preferred
· General knowledge of acoustic treatment requirements and noise reduction techniques
· BOP design experience, including gas and fuel infrastructure, tanks and storage systems, gas compressors and pressure regulators, and demineralized water systems
· Experience with civil works and structural design, including overall site layout (access roads, foundations, waste treatment, and below-grade infrastructure, including water, fuel, and electrical cabling)
· Proficiency with the engineering release process, change and configuration management, and standardized processes
· Familiarity with industry design standards, certifications, and building codes
· Proven technical leader with demonstrated managerial capability; strong written and verbal communication abilities, as well as interpersonal skills
· Base work location is Glastonbury, CT; position requires consistent, on-site presence as an essential function
