LAB TECHNICIAN

Bridesburg Foundry is looking for a Lab Technician to work in our Quality Department. Bridesburg is in Whitehall, PA and has been a long-standing foundry and proud of our opportunities for all employees.

Lab Technician Job Summary:

Responsible for providing support to the foundry process via testing and monitoring of Non-Ferrous metals. Collecting daily samples, analyzing, and reporting to provided recommendations/adjustments to the process/system. Working with the furnace room on required alloys needed for daily production.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Collect daily samples, record information, analyze and report results

- Inspect incoming raw materials and periodically test for comparison to specs

- Recommend process improvements

- Participate in special activities, projects and programs as requested to support Prospect Foundry safety, quality, and productivity goals

- Participate in personal development activities to enhance technical skills

- Proactively support the team and company in achieving its objectives

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

Must have shown ability to work unsupervised & have a strong attendance

Record

- Detail Oriented, Process Oriented, Analytical, and Self-motivating mindset

- Good oral and written communication skills

- Basic computer skills: Excel, Word, Outlook,

- General math skills, chemistry knowledge and melt/pour sequence knowledge

- Operation of spectrometer & related software, microscopes, saws and grinders

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
