Job Summary
Analyst - Performance Budgets is a multifaceted position that involves managing the overall implementation of OSG telecommunications projects and analyzing the OSG Telecommunications budget. This role is crucial for providing relationship management on behalf of AVANGRID, ensuring technical solutions meet requirements in a timely and cost-effective manner. Additionally, the role supports procurement processes, vendor negotiations, monthly invoice processing, and tracking vendor master service agreements. The position requires a blend of project management, financial analysis, and technical expertise to optimize telecom services and drive innovation within the organization.
Major Roles And Responsibilities
Telecom Leadership and Management:
•Provides leadership on various carrier services projects.
•Participates in cross-functional project teams and attends regular program/project status meetings.
•Manages vendor relationships.
Budget And Financial Analysis
•Participates in preparation of plans and budgets for programs and projects, managing progress against plans and taking corrective action to offset variances.
•Analyzes OSG budgets, including tracking variances and preparing reports for IT, General Service, Avangrid Power, and OSG groups.
•Works with corporate finance/accounting to provide accurate and timely OSG budget information, including allocations between operating companies and business areas.
•Assists in the development of in-depth financial evaluations for proposed OSG projects.
Operational And Technical Support
•Tracks and monitors OSG expenditures, capital purchases, and payment processing of telecom invoices and equipment support services.
•Supports OSG Supervisor - Telecommunications with purchase order, change management, and trouble case processing.
•Assists with OSG asset, circuit inventory, and lease/contract management.
•Serves as application administrator and subject matter expert for the Telecom Expense Management software, inventory, and expense management application.
Telecom Carrier Circuit Inventory And Order Management
•Reviews and analyzes telecom carrier circuit inventory to ensure accurate records and identify discrepancies.
•Manages telecom carrier accounts, including auditing and optimizing services to identify cost-saving opportunities.
•Oversees order management processes, ensuring timely and accurate processing of telecom service orders.
•Collaborates with telecom carriers to resolve issues related to circuit inventory and account management.
•Utilizes advanced tools and systems for network inventory management, integrating geospatial data (for wireless devices) and enabling proactive network insights.
Education
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
•Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in IT, Business, Finance, Accounting, or a related field, with 4 years relevant experience in inventory and bill payments for Telecommunications or Information Technology; OR
•Associate’s degree, with 7 years relevant as experience stated above; OR
•High School Diploma/GED equivalent with a 10 years of relevant experience as stated above
Additional Experience Preferred
•Strong service delivery experience.
•Experience in leading projects and/or teams
•Knowledge of telecom business and financial aspects.
Skills/Abilities
•Advanced user of Microsoft Suite, particularly Excel.
•Strong analytical skills.
•Certification for Project/Program management (preferred).
•AGILE methodology experience (preferred).
•Knowledge of IT design and architecture.
•Management skills including staff development and budget.
