Position: Aircraft Maintenance Apprentice
Reporting to: Person Responsible for Maintenance
Indirect Supervisor: At times when the Director of Maintenance is not available, the Aircraft Maintenance Engineer shall be responsible to the Production Supervisor as their indirect supervisor.

Job Description:
An Aircraft Maintenance Engineer Apprentice (AME-Apprentice) is responsible for maintenance, inspection, repair or modification under the guidance of a licensed and certified AME of their maintenance classification. This position has previously completed and been awarded accreditation through an aircraft maintenance education program approved by Transport Canada. This person(s) will be actively working towards completing their Transport Canada required log book and be working towards Transport Canada Licensing.
The duties of the AME Apprentice may include support in other areas of maintenance and operations.
Key Responsibilities:
•Conduct maintenance on aircraft or aircraft components
•Perform maintenance activities in accordance with the applicable standards of airworthiness under the supervision of licensed and experienced AMEs
•Ensure all paperwork for assigned tasks is complete and accurate
•Ensure all maintenance tasks are complete as per the aircraft maintenance manual.
•Troubleshoot faulty systems alongside licensed and experienced AMEs to determine a course of rectification
•Travel with an aircraft when assigned away from base for an extended period of time, as required or requested
•Assist with sheet metal / avionics repairs as needed or requested
Additional Responsibilities:
•Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills, with strong observational, decision-making and time management skills
•Strong communication skills, and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
•Maintain a safe and clean hangar and working area
•Support Stores or Technical Records as Required
Reporting Requirements:
•Assisting with and supporting all policies and procedures regarding the SMS Program
•Timely support of Aircraft-On-Ground (AOG) requirements.
Educational Requirements:
Transport Canada-approved AME basic training program (or one that is acceptable to Transport Canada
Experience Requirements:
No Experience Required, But Fixed Wing Experience in the M1 Classification is preferred
Certificates & Licensing Requirements:
Diploma with accreditation from a Transport Canada Approved Program
