About This Job

Hussey Copper has an opening for a Maintenance Engineer at its Leetsdale, PA, location. The Maintenance Engineer is responsible for the reliability and sustainability of new and existing equipment. Will lead process and product improvement efforts as a technical resource to the operations team. Supports manufacturing and maintenance through MDI process & continuous improvement initiatives. Troubleshoots technical problems. Project manager for expense and CAPX projects. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Responsibilities:

Responsible for preventive maintenance strategies and management of spare parts programs. and developing and implementing maintenance procedures and standards of work on all repairs and equipment.
Manage a variety of capital and non-capital projects as the Project Manager or Project Lead. Utilizing fundamentals of project management, i.e. scope, specification, design review, budget and WBS/Schedule governed by change management. Knowledge of FEL process a plus. Schedule contractors and manage day-to-day activities to complete projects on time.
Perform work measurement studies, including time studies, process capability studies and uptime studies to meet pre-determined goals prior to formal handoff of project to manufacturing.
Incorporate safety into all aspects of the department and ensure safe working conditions during all activities associated within the manufacturing environment.
Analyze equipment failure data to identify patterns and trends applying engineering principles to develop and implement countermeasures to prevent re-occurrence including develop/revise PM’s with proper granularity and cadence. Improve equipment reliability and operation through analysis of data and experimental evaluation.
Conduct root cause analysis to determine the underlying cause of problems on equipment in effort to maximize equipment uptime and throughput.
Collaborate with other departments to ensure that reliability is integrated into all aspects of the organization.
Design countermeasures and engineering trials; verify effectiveness of corrective actions.


Requirements:

4-year degree in an industrial engineering discipline is required.
Minimum 3-7 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment.
Experience in leading various types of projects major equipment outages and installation of new equipment and processes directing internal and or external resources.
Able to facilitate projects using Lean Manufacturing principles and complete root cause analysis (8-D, 5 why) and implement countermeasures to prevent re-occurrence.
Strong computer skills, AutoCAD, proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Access. Must be detail oriented with strong communication and analytical skills.
