We are looking for a highly skilled Research and Development Engineer to join our team. This entry level role focuses on developing Artificial Intelligence / Machine Learning (AI / ML) and conventional software applications for large gas turbines.
How You’ll Make An Impact
- Develop software applications and design tools using AI/ML or conventional software technologies for aerodynamics, heat transfer, mechanical integrity, and lifing.
- Build surrogate models and digital twins based on user needs.
- Write scripts for automation and multi-disciplinary optimization (MDO).
- Development of software applications using Large Language Models (LLMs) to automate engineering processes.
- Capture requirements, develop, document, deploy, and maintain software applications.
- Prepare training materials and presentations to educate engineers on software usage, ensuring project success in terms of time, cost, and quality.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or Computer Science (Advanced degree preferred).
- Some experience in the gas or aero turbine industry (or a PhD).
- Proficiency in Python, Bash, C++, Fortran, GitLab, Linux, and experience with front-end tools (React, JavaScript, HTML, CSS).- Strong background in developing design tools, scripts, engineering software, and APIs, with experience in Azure, AWS, or hybrid cloud environments.
- Knowledge of LLMs, AI, ML, Deep Learning, surrogate models, digital twins, and high-performance computing (HPC).
- Highly motivated, proactive, excellent communication skills,
- Must be eligible to work on control technology as required by U.S. export control regulations.
- Candidates with prior or current experience with Siemens Energy customers, processes, and systems is preferred.
- Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. Siemens Energy employees with current visa sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfers.

Zero or low emission power generation and all gas turbines under one roof, steam turbines and generators. Decarbonization opportunities through service offerings, modernization, and digitalization of the fleet.
