Job Summary
NAES has an opportunity for experienced Aero-Derivative Turbine Inspectors to support short-term, travel-based assignments performing assessments on mobile gas turbine units. In this role, you will travel to operating and storage locations to evaluate unit condition, review maintenance history, verify documentation, and complete a structured inspection checklist. This role requires hands-on technical experience with aero-derivative gas turbines, strong mechanical aptitude, and the ability to clearly document findings and communicate equipment condition to internal stakeholders.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Travel to domestic and international sites to perform due diligence inspections on aero-derivative gas turbine units
- Conduct visual and mechanical inspections following a structured checklist, including package condition, auxiliary systems, major component status, and control system readiness.
- Review OEM service records, maintenance logs, operating hours, starts, and historical service bulletins for accuracy and completeness.
- Verify unit configuration, spare parts, consumables, and tooling against asset documentation provided by the seller.
- Perform basic system checks and assess overall operability, remaining useful life, and any refurbishment or repair needs.
- Document inspection findings with clear descriptions, photographs, condition scoring, and recommendations.
- Prepare written inspection reports summarizing technical condition, gaps, risks, and estimated work required to achieve operational readiness.
- Hands-on technical experience working with aero-derivative gas turbines (maintenance, field service, operations, or commissioning).
- Strong mechanical knowledge of gas turbine components, auxiliary systems, controls interfaces, and field installation considerations.
- Ability to interpret OEM manuals, maintenance records, service bulletins, and technical documentation.
- Strong written communication skills with the ability to produce clear inspection reports with photos and findings.
- Proficient in basic computer applications (MS Office/SharePoint) to complete checklists and submit reports.
- Extensive domestic and international travel required (short-duration assignments, typically 1–2 weeks per site).
- Technical degree, military technical training, or OEM training (GE Aero-Derivatives or equivalent) preferred.
- 5+ years of gas turbine experience- Valid passport required
