Job Summary

Linemen are skilled craftworkers with the ability to complete, repair, and assess line work in the operation, maintenance, and repair of overhead and underground electrical distribution assets. We are seeking an individual who has expertise in the operation of related necessary equipment, vehicles, and tools.

Who You Are

•

Recent field experience

•

Must possess a valid and current CDL, or be able to obtain a CDL permit within the first 90 days of employment, and subsequently be able to acquire a CDL within the first 6 months of employment

•

Ability to lift 50lbs unassisted

•

Willingness and ability to work for extended periods in various locations, when required

•

Willingness to travel long distances on short notice, when required.

•

Ability to properly inspect rubber goods and PPE

•

Willing to work over-time when requested

•

Capable of working at heights and/or confined spaces

•

Ability to climb different types of structures safely (wood, steel, etc.) and possess the necessary tools to do so

•

Ability to work outside, frequently in inclement weather conditions

•

Able to read and communicate effectively in English

Essential Duties & Responsibilities *

•

Perform new construction, maintenance, or repair work of energized and de-energized overhead work.

•

Lead crew members in the absence of the Foreman.

•

Ability to identify primary, secondary voltage & communication assets on a circuit

•

String overhead wire, set poles and anchors.

•

Install transformers, lightning arrestors, cutouts, crossarms, insulators, switches, and switchgear.

•

Installation and removal of PPE and cover up.

•

Troubleshoot trouble in primary and secondary systems.

•

Replace cutout fuses and clear faulted circuits and systems.

•

Phase out a line using phasing sticks.

•

Frequently work with energized high voltage systems requiring skill and care to protect the lives of yourself and others.

•

Conduct a pre-job or tailgate briefing and plan jobs.

•

Perform reconductoring jobs.

•

Maintain company vehicles, equipment, and tools in good working order.

•

Proficient with use of aerial lifts, bucket trucks, hand tools, and test equipment

•

Understanding of grounding procedures

•

Understands how to obtain a one shot on a recloser

•

Capable of safely installing and removing mechanical jumpers

•

Understands how to use a load bust tool

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $29.93 - $33.08 per hour
