An opening currently exists for the position of Administrative Team Leader in our Houston, TX manufacturing facility. This position leads and coaches the Administrative team in support of other teams and value streams within the division and performs various divisional functions including accounting, budget, inventory control, human resources, and coordinates these functions with the Corporate office. The Administrative Team Leader reports to the Operations Manager.
Some of the essential functions of this position are:
- Builds a lean culture and executes a plan to drive the lean system forward by focusing on value, delivering on commitments, continuous improvement and executing with discipline and accountability.
- Builds a strong lean team to support the culture; establishes expectations, ensures training, and coaches problem solving for team members.
- Leads through example by establishing goals and Key Performance Indicators and driving results quickly through excellent coaching and facilitating.
- Ensures the team performs to set expectations and holds direct reports accountable to these expectations.
- Responsible for division production and inventory transactions, accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll accounting, fixed assets, outside services, and financial analysis for division.
- Matches vendor invoices with purchase orders and receives documents to obtain approvals for processing by corporate accounting department.
- Responsible for monthly and annual physical inventory counts, the division month-end closing and reconciliation process, and coordination of fixed asset changes with Corporate.
- Coordinates division employment process and communicates company benefit programs.
- Maintains OSHA log and forwards appropriate information to worker’s compensation carrier.
- Responsible for the maintenance of time records and the calculation of weekly time records for processing of divisional payroll.
- Plays a key role in the administrative coordination and maintenance of McElroy’s on-site roll forming services.
Some of the requirements of this position are:
- High School diploma plus college level accounting courses.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business or Accounting strongly preferred.
- Five years accounting experience.
- 3+ years of lean leadership experience or equivalent supervisory experience.- Working knowledge of spreadsheet and word processing programs.
