Brief Description
The Accounting Manager is responsible for the management of the monthly close and financial reporting processes primarily focused on solar power generation. Candidates should possess knowledge of all aspects of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Preparation, supervision and review of monthly close process including account reconciliations, journal entries, and financial statements.
- Ensure timely and accurate reporting of financial results to owners, lenders and other third parties.
- Manage aspects of servicing debt and reporting of financial covenants.
- Coordinate preparation of annual operating budgets and forecasts with power plant operations staff and commercial teams.
- Coordinate and provide supporting data for the annual financial statement audit including preparation of footnotes.
- Support accounting system improvement projects.
- Provide financial data to tax preparation team and help coordinate timely filing of returns.
- Maintain a strong system of internal controls.
- Training of accounting staff.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
- Minimum of 6 years of experience with public accounting experience a plus.
- Sound analytical skills to compile as well as dissect and interpret financial and operational information.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities; must be a self-starter and take the initiative in completing projects and assignments.
- Customer focused with strong attention to detail and capable of delivering accurate, quality results in a timely, consistent, and professional manner.
- Strong interpersonal skills to be able to effectively work with internal and external resources.
- Ability to manage several tasks simultaneously.
- Strong Excel spreadsheet skills.
Summary
Applicants must possess a
valid driver's licenseand maintain a clean driving record, as this position requires occasional travel for company business. Candidates should be comfortable operating a vehicle as part of their job responsibilities and must meet any applicable company and insurance requirements.
