We are seeking an experienced Accounting Analyst II to join our team on a long-term contract. In this role, you will provide financial guidance, technical accounting support, and assist with complex financial reporting and analysis. You’ll be working on budgeting, compliance, audits, tax certifications, and maintaining accurate ledgers to support the organization’s financial operations.
- Prepare and maintain journal entries, general ledger, reconciliations, and financial statements.
- Support monthly/annual close processes and compliance/audit activities.
- Provide financial analysis for taxes, fuel transactions, debt issuances, depreciation, overhead allocations, and other special projects.
- Assist in developing financial policies, procedures, and strategies.
- Conduct variance analysis and prepare reports that explain accounting trends.
- Work with internal managers and external agencies to ensure compliance with accounting standards (GAAP, GASB, FERC).
- Support ERP system enhancements and maintenance (PeopleSoft, Passport, SAP, or Oracle experience a plus).- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field + 6 years’ experience in accounting/finance. - OR Associate degree + 8 years’ experience. - OR High School diploma/GED + 12 years’ progressive accounting experience.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, reconciliations, and audit processes.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and financial systems.
- CPA or CMA certification.
- Experience with ERP systems (PeopleSoft, Passport, Oracle, SAP).
- Familiarity with nuclear accounting or utility industry accounting.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work with cross-functional teams.
