Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing financial records, preparing reports, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. This role requires a strong understanding of various accounting software and concepts, including bookkeeping, and general ledger management. The Accountant will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial data to support strategic decision-making and operational efficiency.
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports.
- Perform general ledger accounting and account reconciliation to ensure accuracy of financial data.
- Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, ensuring timely payments and collections.
- Record journal entries accurately using accounting software.
- Conduct bank reconciliations and ensure all financial transactions are properly documented.
- Assist with budgeting, financial report writing, and variance analysis to support organizational planning.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and other regulatory standards in all financial activities.
- Support payroll processing and tax preparation activities as needed.
- Perform month-end and year-end closing procedures, including ledger cleanup and audit preparation.
- Maintain detailed documentation of all accounting procedures and transactions for internal controls.
- Proven experience with accounting software.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, corporate accounting, non-profit accounting, governmental accounting, and technical accounting principles.
- Proficiency in balance sheet reconciliation, bank reconciliation, account analysis, and general ledger reconciliation.
- Familiarity with double entry bookkeeping, debits & credits, journal entries, and bookkeeping best practices.
- Ability to interpret financial concepts and prepare accurate financial reports.
- Experience with accounts payable/receivable management and payroll processing.
- Excellent attention to detail with strong organizational skills; proficiency in 10-key typing is preferred.
- Knowledge of non-profit tax regulations related to accounting is a plus.
- Effective communication skills for collaboration across departments and external auditors.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field; professional certification such as CPA is advantageous but not required.
