Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Lineperson to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical utility lines. This role requires a strong understanding of electrical systems and safety protocols, as well as the ability to work in various outdoor environments. The Lineperson will play a crucial role in ensuring reliable utility services for our customers.
Duties
•
Install, maintain, and repair overhead and underground electrical utility lines.
•
Read and interpret blueprints to determine the layout of electrical systems.
•
Utilize tools such as voltmeters and ohmmeters for testing electrical systems.
•
Climb poles and towers safely to perform necessary repairs or installations.
•
Operate bucket trucks for high-altitude work on utility lines.
•
Conduct utility locating to identify existing underground utilities before excavation.
•
Trim trees and vegetation that may interfere with power lines or equipment.
•
Adhere to National Electrical Code (NEC) standards and safety regulations at all times.
•
Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow and safety on job sites.
Qualifications
•
Proven experience in linework or a related field is preferred.
•
Strong skills in rigging techniques and equipment handling.
•
Ability to read blueprints and technical diagrams effectively.
•
Familiarity with IT infrastructure as it relates to utility operations is a plus.
•
Physical ability to climb, lift, and perform manual labor in various weather conditions.
•
Knowledge of utility locating practices is highly desirable.
•
Must possess a valid driver's license and maintain a clean driving record.
•
Commitment to safety protocols and procedures in all aspects of work.
