2nd Shift Welding Shop Foreman

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Welding Shop Foreman to lead our second shift operations as the company continues to grow. The ideal candidate will have advanced MIG welding expertise, strong leadership skills, and a commitment to quality and safety. As the foreman, you will oversee a team of welders, ensure production goals are met, and maintain high quality standards in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The shift runs Monday-Thursday 3PM-1:30AM.

Key Responsibilities:

- Supervise and coordinate second shift welding operations, ensuring timely completion of projects

- Perform advanced MIG welding on various materials, maintaining precision and quality standards- ensuring quality welds, mitigating warping, and monitoring other potential issues.

- Train, mentor, and evaluate welders to enhance team performance and skill development.

- Enforce safety protocols and ensure compliance with OSHA and company regulations.

- Safely operate 25-ton overhead crane and forklifts as needed.

- Collaborate with 1st shift foreman to meet production deadlines.

- Conduct preliminary inspections to ensure parts meet job specifications.

- Ability to work independently, answer technical questions, and motivate teammates to meet the goals of the shift.

Qualifications:

- MIG welding experience, with advanced proficiency in welding techniques and processes.

- 2+ years of supervisory or leadership experience in a manufacturing or welding environment.

- Strong knowledge of welding equipment, tools, and safety practices.

- Ability to read and interpret drawings

- Excellent measuring and layout skills

- Great communication and team management skills.

- Certification in welding (e.g., AWS D1.1) preferred but not required.

- High school diploma or equivalent

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $30.00 - $35.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
