JOB ACTIVITIES: MONDAY - FRIDAY 1:00PM-9:00PM MUST BE ABLE TO READ A TAPE MEASURE AND MUST BE ABLE TO WORK 12 HOUR SHIFTS WHEN NEEDED*
1. Selects steel:
a. Uses caution to avoid damage to the steel.
b. Uses tape measure and calipers to verify correct size of material.
c. Uses color code to verify composition and/or thickness of material.
d. Directs overhead crane operator regarding the proper material to be brought to the saw.
e. Operates remote crane, as needed.
2. Saw steel:
a. Hooks up straps and chains to material and helps the crane operator guide the material to the correct position on the Saw table.
b. Manually and mechanically places steel in the precise position for an accurate cut, per customer order.
c. Accurately marks the material for shipment.
3. Returns steel to stock:
a. Marks all drops with heat numbers, other identifying numbers, and color codes to ensure the identity of the steel.
b. Places drop in correct location.
c. Uses caution to avoid damage to the steel.
4. Must be able to lift 50lbs and ready steel for shipment storage.
5. Performs routine preventative maintenance on Saw and associated equipment. (Changing Saw Blades)
8. Performs all tasks safely; obeys all safety rules.
9. Performs other duties assigned by foreman as necessary to complete the shift.
