Job Title: Powder Coat Painter – Second Shift

The Powder Coat Painter – Second Shift is responsible for preparing, coating, and curing metal parts using electrostatic powder coating techniques. The ideal candidate has handson experience with industrial finishing equipment, understands proper coating thickness and curing requirements, and takes pride in delivering topquality finishes in a fastpaced production environment.
· Prepare and clean metal surfaces by removing oil, dirt, rust, and scale using appropriate tools and solvents.
· Set up and operate powder coating equipment, including spray guns, booths, and ovens.
· Apply powder coatings evenly to achieve consistent film thickness and color quality according to specifications.
· Inspect coated parts for coverage, finish quality, and defects prior to curing.
· Load and unload parts from racks or conveyors and move them through the curing oven.
· Perform color changes, touchups, and rework as needed.
· Maintain and clean powder coating booths, guns, and related equipment daily.
· Record production data and ensure jobs are completed on schedule.
· Follow all safety protocols, including PPE use and safe handling of materials.
· Participate in continuous improvement and 5S workplace organization initiatives.
· 2+ years of experience in powder coating or industrial painting (required).
· Familiarity with powder coating equipment, materials, and curing processes.
· Ability to read and interpret job travelers, color codes, and quality specifications.
· Strong attention to detail and ability to identify surface or finish defects.
· Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot equipment issues.
· Willingness to work 2nd shift and occasional overtime as needed.
· Ability to lift up to 75 lbs and stand for extended periods.
· Frequent bending, stooping, reaching, and manual handling of parts and equipment.
· Tolerance for working in warm environments near curing ovens.
· Use of PPE including respirators, gloves, and protective clothing as required.
