Hours: Mon-Thurs: 2:15pm-10:45pm and Fri:12pm-6pm
This position will be responsible for safely operating an edging machine. This position will require technical skills that include following customer instructions, meeting quality requirements, working within the company processes, following all safety protocols and the ability to use math to properly perform job duties. This position is also responsible for periodic inspection of their equipment and reporting any needed maintenance.
Duties and Responsibilities:
•Checking work order, properly select processed material checking for weight, alloy, size and quality.
•Proper set-up and operation of an edging machine.
•In process inspect of material to ensure proper quality is maintained.
•Identify the correct edging tools to utilize.
•Run material according to specifications of work order.
•Check material to ensure customer quality requirements are met.
•Properly identify all edged material and complete all documentation.
•May require the repair of minor mechanical problems.
•Group completed coils together by work order in designated area.
•Maintain work area in a clean and neat fashion.
•Math aptitude/setup calculations testing
•Troubleshoot any issues and concerns.
•Follow ALL safety protocols, including the proper wearing of required PPE for the company
•Required to learn how to use overhead crane/lifting devices
•Forklift experience is a plus
•Mechanical skills required
•Previous experience in working with metals is preferred
Required Education and Experience:
•Education and/or experience – High School degree or equivalent preferred. Prior experience or training in a related field or manufacturing environment preferred.
•Math – Must be able to use and understand simple mathematics, using addition, subtraction, fractions and decimals. Knowledge of the Standard/Imperial measuring system is required, and knowledge of the metric system is a plus.
•Understanding and use of basic measuring instruments required; micrometers, digital calipers, tape measure is preferred.
