Job Description

Quaise Energy Inc. develops millimeter wave drilling systems for deep geothermal heat access. Our unique and proprietary technology unlocks the potential to build geothermal wells at unprecedented depths and temperatures; allowing geothermal wells to provide low-cost baseload energy to the grid. Quaise’s technology consists of a source of millimeter wave (mmW) energy, such as high power gyrotron, operating in continuous wave mode to vaporize subsurface rock. Candidates will join a fast-paced team working on real engineering challenges at the intersection of mechanical, electrical, RF, and fusion energy disciplines to deploy field-ready MMW drilling systems.

- Assist in the design and development of engineering projects under the guidance of experienced engineers, including research, concept generation, and prototyping.

- Support documentation efforts by maintaining project records, updating technical drawings, and contributing to reports and presentations.

- Collaborate with team members to identify creative solutions to technical challenges, fostering problem-solving and critical thinking skills.

- Assist in the creation of technical drawings, presentations, and reports to effectively communicate project progress and results.

- Participate in team meetings and brainstorming sessions, gaining exposure to professional communication and collaboration in a real-world engineering environment.

- Support the testing and validation of prototypes and final products, ensuring they meet performance requirements and safety standards.

- Learn and apply new engineering software and tools to enhance individual and team productivity.

- Build professional relationships with colleagues and external partners, promoting a collaborative and growth-oriented environment.

- Adhere to company policies, safety regulations, and industry best practices throughout the internship experience.

- Performs other related duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

- Candidates should be undergraduate studies or continuing their graduate education

- Bachelors, Masters, Doctoral


Major/Academic Focus (Preferred)

Applied Physics, Electrical and Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering-Systems, Energy Systems Engineering, Engineering Physics, Mechanical Engineering, Nuclear Engineering, Robotics, Structural Engineering, Systems Engineering and Design


Physical requirements

- The employee is regularly required to stand, sit, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, as well as use hands to feel, reach, grasp, handle, or operate objects, tools and/or controls.

- The employee must be able to lift, push, pull, transfer, or move items up 20 pounds at times for departmental needs.

- Ability to move from one worksite to another or travel to various job sites and locations to complete tasks.

- The vision requirement includes reviewing written and electronic materials in digital and physical format.
