Role Definition
Provides day-to-day technical and administrative support for supply chain management activities.
- Assisting in communicating with procurement, material planning, inventory, distribution to minimize cost and improve efficiency.
- Providing technical support and assistance on supply chain management.
- Inputting data into supply chain application system; maintaining the system on a regular basis.
- Collecting, analyzing, and reporting data on supply chain operation.

Process Management: Knowledge of business process improvement tools and techniques; ability to understand, monitor, update, control, or enhance existing business or work processes.
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, engineering, business, or a related field.
Overall GPA of at least 2.8 on a 4.0 scale.
- 0–2 years of relevant experience related to this field (internships or academic projects are a plus)
- Interest in process improvement and vendor relationship management.
- Employs process flows, cycle time, process time and waste concepts as appropriate.
- Walks through steps, decisions, measurements, dependencies and hand-offs for a specific process.
- Creates process flow or workflow diagrams.
- Document types of process decisions and potential impact of each decision.
- Identifies and monitors common process bottlenecks.

- Receives frequent import shipments and manages the customs clearance process.
- Assists in the export process; ensures compliance with U.S. regulations for a specific country.
- Uses locally relevant tariff schedules.
- Completes all required import or export documentation for repetitive transactions.
Logistics Management: Knowledge of logistics and management; ability to follow proper processes and run operations for effective and efficient movement of materials and finished products.
Level Working Knowledge:
- Assists in the development of process flows to track lead time by activity.
- Uses tools, with guidance, to forecast delivery times, determine costs and assess performance.
- Maintains records of all shipments and invoices using an established system.
- Participates in integrating logistics processes and developing effective networks.
- Works with logistics in a domestic environment.
Transportation - MFG: Knowledge of transportation; ability to transport materials and goods to and from suppliers, distribution centers, manufacturing facilities and customers.
Level Working Knowledge:
- Participates in arranging transportation of goods.
- Ensures on time shipments; anticipates and resolves shipping problems.
- Assists in calculating costs; uses associated billing and freight payment procedures.
- Follows process for issuing bids and analyzing responses from carriers.
