We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Project Logistics Specialist to support all international & domestics logistics, including the transport of oversized or overweight equipment to our customers.
- Manage shipments for Mitsubishi Power’s projects, including pre-shipment planning, transport, and final-mile delivery.
- Ensure on-time delivery of Mitsubishi Power’s equipment to the job site.
- Collaborate with our colleagues in Japan, engineering, project management, procurement, construction, and third-party providers to align logistics plans with the master project schedule.
- Coordinate multimodal transportation for high-value cargo.
- Perform the Release to Ship process: includes issuing shipping instructions to suppliers and shipping coordination with Logistics Service Providers, Expediting / Sourcing Team members, and Site Material Management (TFA) personnel.
- Attend supplier, project and customer related meetings.
- Track and process carrier/forwarder invoices, along with project budget support.
- Manage any claims that result from damage, delays or charges related to the transportation of Mitsubishi Power’s equipment.
- Ensure all international shipments comply with U.S. and foreign government regulations and local customs requirements.
- Manage the preparation, review, and submission of documentation for customs clearance and special cargo handling.
- Partner with customs brokers and freight forwarders to address country-specific import/export challenges and avoid costly delays.
- Create import/export documents and the broker instruction letter to our customs broker.
- Maintain records and trade compliance per Mitsubishi Power’s Trade Compliance Department standards.
- Ensure strategic operational execution initiatives are aligned with logistics service providers.
- Support the Project Logistics Manager & Customs Compliance Manager as necessary.
- Perform other duties as may be required from time to time by the company.- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, International Business, Engineering, or 5+ years of relative experience.
- Demonstrated success managing international cargo across multiple continents.
- Strong knowledge of Incoterms, HTS classifications, international trade regulations, and documentation requirements.
- Proficient in ERP systems (e.g., SAP) and MS Office.
- Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as project needs dictate.
- Customs Brokers License
- Lean Six Sigma or logistics process improvement credentials
