About This Job

The following will be the main responsibilities for this position:

•

Assisting shop foreman with shipping and receiving of various full and partial loads

•

Contacting various LTL carries to arrange pick up and delivery of Thyssen related items

•

Being in contact with shop clerk to generate proper Reqs and PO’s to be in process prior to arranging loads.

•

Verifying piece count of received orders, based on packing slips, to let foreman and clerk on what is outstanding or missed.

•

Assisting with information required for customs/cross border shipping of items.

•

Filling out various shipping/receiving binders for tracking purposes.

•

Filling our various Thyssen shipping advices and LTL Carrier BOL’s.

•

Eventually having the ability to email site with shipment information.

•

Assist with verification on inventory if required.

•

Operation of mobile equipment, forklift, loaders , overhead crane is an asset required.

•

Loading and unloading of mobile equipment and sea cans. Being aware of assisting with rental crane company when required.

•

Performing monthly site safety inspections, perimeter inspections of yard

•

Being responsible for general labour / mechanical support requirements as instructed by shop foreman.

•

Being responsible for general housekeeping for the shop and yard to meet Thyssen's expectation of organization.

•

Snow removal duties, during off hours, overtime applies. Use of loaders, snowblowers to meet this requirement

•

Transportation of loads in-city and occasional hotshot of Thyssen items, via 1-Ton flat deck, or gooseneck trailer. Class 1 is an asset for loads over 4,600 kgs
