Position Summary:

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Yard Supervisor with great knowledge of building materials to oversee daily operations in our yard and warehouse. This role is essential in ensuring the safe, efficient, and accurate handling of materials, deliveries, and equipment. The ideal candidate will be a strong leader with excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.

Key Responsibilities:

- Supervise all yard and warehouse activities, including personnel, equipment, and housekeeping

- Schedule and coordinate deliveries, pickups, and unloading of materials

- Inspect outgoing loads to ensure accuracy and completeness

- Monitor inventory levels and report shortages, damages, or surplus items

- Maintain accurate records of shipments, receipts, backorders, and credits

- Oversee the performance and morale of truck drivers and forklift operators

- Ensure compliance with safety standards and company policies

- Manage timecards, vacation schedules, and daily work assignments

- Support a clean, organized, and customer-friendly yard environment

Qualifications & Skills:

- Strong administrative and supervisory skills

- Proficient in basic math, reading, writing, and computer use

- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities

- Ability to plan, prioritize, and problem-solve in a fast-paced environment

- Experience in logistics, warehousing, or construction materials preferred

Physical Requirements:

- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods (up to 4 hours)

- Must be able to lift up to 100 lbs. and frequently handle loads up to 50 lbs.

- Capable of climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, and reaching

- Comfortable working indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
