Yard Attendant / General Laborer

Job Summary, Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Direct and control traffic in the yard, weighing vehicles in and out on our scales and control traffic in the yard, weighing vehicles in and out on our scales

· Very demanding fast-pace outdoor environment

· Working outdoors year round

· Learning to determine metal: ferrous and non-ferrous

· Communicating with the Scalehouse and operators via radio

· Communicating and interacting with the public in a courteous and professional manner

· Cleaning scale area and yard

· Other duties as assigned

· Full time position: Monday to Friday

Physical Demands and/or Work Environment

· This is an entry level position, no equipment skills needed

· Standing, walking for at least 7 hours outdoors

· Frequent holding and grasping with the hands when checking and unloading customers

· Occasional lifting to 50 lbs.

· Climbing on trucks

Outdoor work, exposure to bright lights, extreme temperatures, loud noise, dust, gas and/or fumes.
