Workshop Technician, Katy, Texas, USA

Job Overview:

Novomet USA is seeking a Workshop Technician

to join our team in Katy, Texas. The ideal candidate will be responsible for

testing, inspecting, maintaining, and preparing downhole equipment

such as pumps and motors. This role requires mechanical expertise, attention to detail, and adherence to safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

- Equipment Inspection & Testing:

- Check and test

downhole equipment

(pumps, motors, etc.) before shipping, ensuring compliance with company standards.

- Perform

DIFA (Disassembly, Inspection, and Failure Analysis)

under supervision during training and independently afterward.

- Workshop Maintenance & Inventory Control:

- Maintain a clean and organized

workshop, test benches, and tools

.

- Assist with

inventory management

, including receiving, inspecting, labeling, and recording shipments.

- Conduct

inventory counts and audits

to ensure accuracy.

- Logistics & Reporting:

- Assist with

loading/unloading equipment

and ensure proper documentation.

- Complete and maintain

daily reports

on equipment testing and inspections.

- Compliance & Safety:

- Follow all

company procedures, QHSE requirements, and HSE policies

.

- Ensure safe operation of

industrial forklifts and other machinery

.

Qualifications and experience:

- Education:

High School diploma or equivalent required.

- Experience:

- 1+ years of experience as a

Workshop Technician

in an

ESP (Electrical Submersible Pumps) Service Center

preferred.

- Prior work in an

industrial or workshop environment

is advantageous.

Professional Skills:

- Proficiency with hand tools, hydraulic and electrical machinery.

- Ability to read engineering drawings and maintenance manuals.

- Strong problem-solving and technical skills.

- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.

- Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.

Physical Requirements/Work Conditions:

- Ability to

lift up to 50 lbs.

, squat, kneel, push/pull, and stand for extended periods.

- Comfortable working in a

non-climate-controlled environment

with exposure to

noise, dust, and oil-based products

.

- Must wear

PPE

(eye, hearing, and respiratory protection, hard hat, safety shoes).

- Overtime and on-call work may be required

Work Schedule

- Full-time, minimum 40 hours per week

- Monday to Friday, 8-hour shifts

- Overtime and weekend work as needed.

Pay: $23.00 - $25.00 per hour
