Worthington Steel, in partnership with local high schools, offers The Worthington Steel Workforce Experience (WSWE) – a 14-week, pre apprenticeship program designed to give interested seniors the opportunity to discover careers in the manufacturing industry. WSWE includes classroom and hands-on training with the potential to join our team at the end of the program.
In Class & On-the-Job Learning Worthington Steel will work to educate students by combining career readiness skills training, in areas such as safety, communications, finance and problem solving, with hands-on techniques they will use in their day-to-day work.
Students will also spend time working on the production floor. We incorporate a paid Material Handler internship as a part of this curriculum. Students go to work during the school year and learn the same skills as our entry level employees.
