Position Purpose

This position assists with the maintenance, repair, and operation of all wind farm mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and computer control equipment at the 122 MW Prairie Winds North Dakota Wind Farm (PWND) or the 172 MW Prairie Winds South Dakota Wind Farm (PWSD).

Typical Physical/Mental/Environmental Demands

This position requires frequent standing, walking, and climbing; and occasional sitting, bending, kneeling, pushing/pulling up to 150 pounds, lifting/carrying up to 35 pounds, and using keyboard/computer. The incumbent may occasionally lift up to 125 pounds with assistance. This position requires finger dexterity, good color vision, and good hearing. Working conditions may frequently include chemicals and noise, and occasionally extreme heat/cold and dirt/dust. This position must be respirator qualified. The incumbent must be able to operate a motor vehicle and must be able to consistently climb and feel comfortable climbing wind turbine towers at heights up to 300 feet, which requires the use of safety equipment. This position will perform demanding work at heights under adverse conditions, including confined spaces. The incumbent must remain fit for duty and must remain in compliance with ANZI Z359 fall protection code standards. (Equipment weight ranges between 18-28 lbs. ANZI Standards, effective 03/20/16, weight maximum with equipment is 310 lbs.)

Wage : 42.26 per hour
